Horsemanship Camps at the Nixon Ranch can be customized for all ages. Participants will have a fun, hands-on learning experience with horses. This program will teach, communication and cooperation with your equine partner. During camp participants will be taught responsibility, patience and leadership. Some of the activities included are…

 

• Horseback riding instruction will be given, which focuses on a balanced seat and how to properly use your natural aids

• Safety around horses and understanding their body language

• Ground work, communicating with your horse from the ground

• How to groom your horse and build a great relationship with him

• Horse care and chores involved in owning a horse

• Horse tack, equipment and how it’s used

• Fun crafts and games that teach all about the horse

• Equine terms, breeds, markings and colors.
